This is a raw steel kit of parts for the DIY enthusiast wanting to build your own smoker. Customer is to source their own drum, cooking rack and be capable of using hand tools/power tools/marking out/working with metal.
When using a used steel drum please source a food grade rated steel container, all efforts for removing painted surfaces prior to cooking must be adhered to. Ashes to Ash's BBQ highly suggest sand/grit blasting internally and externally prior to commencement with correct internal seasoning process prior to cooking.
Due to the high internal heat generated, regular paints are not suitable. We recommend using "high heat automotive paints" rated 500 degrees Celsius or higher. Please follow coating manufactures preparation requirements for correct adhesion.
